R.I.P.D. 2: Rise of the Damned (2022)

The Wild West has literally gone to hell, and the world’s best hope to be saved lies in the hands of Sheriff Roy Pulsipher (Jeffrey Donovan), who becomes the newest officer of the Rest in Peace Department (R.I.P.D.), the department that enforces the law in the afterlife…

R.I.P.D. 2: Rise of the Damned is a prequel movie and it is set before R.I.P.D.: Rest in Peace Department.

R.I.P.D.: Rest in Peace Department (2013)

Sheriff Roy Pulsifer (Bridges) follows monstrous spirits that transform into seemingly ordinary people. His mission is to arrest and bring to justice special types of criminals who are trying to avoid the final judgment and are hiding on Earth.

The film was directed by Robert Schwentke and written by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, based on the 1999 comic book R.I.P.D. by Peter M. Lenkov. The film also stars Kevin Bacon, Mary-Louise Parker, Stéphanie Szostak, and Marisa Miller.

Do you need to watch R.I.P.D. movies in order?

If you want to watch both movies then you should watch them in order. But, in which order you will watch them is up to you. Our suggestion would be to watch them in chronological order, but you can also watch them in order by the release date.

Will there be more R.I.P.D. movies?

It is highly unlikely that we will ever see an R.I.P.D. That said, we did have to wait for about 10 years to get the prequel, so you never know.
