First continuity – Original Death Race movies in order
Under this continuity, we would put the original Death Race 2000 movie from 1975 and Death Race 2050, its sequel. Let’s see what are they about.
Death Race 2000 (1975)
It is based on the novel The Racer by Ib Melchior, and the action is set in the year 2000 (at that time in the near future), two decades after the US experienced an economic collapse and an authoritarian regime was established that keeps the masses in obedience by organizing a spectacular transcontinental car race where the participants they compete by trying to kill each other and score points by trampling random pedestrians.
The nominal protagonist, played by David Carradine, is Frankenstein, a mysterious masked driver who has won several previous races, and who, along with other drivers, becomes the target of sabotage and assassination by the resistance movement.
Death Race 2050 (2017)
In the not-too-distant future, America is under the control of a powerful corporate government that organizes brutal parties. The most famous is the Death Race, in which participants get points for trampling pedestrians and killing each other. Reigning champion and crowd favorite, half-man half-machine Frankenstein, doesn’t know he’s taken a rebel spy as his passenger.
Second continuity – Reboot Death Race movies in order
This is the second Death Race continuity, consisting of one main Death Race movie, two prequels and one sequel. Let’s check them out.
Death Race 2 (2010)
In the most dangerous prison in the world, a new game is born: Death Race. The rules of this adrenaline-fueled blood sport are simple, drive or die.
Death Race 3: Inferno (2013)
Penitent convict Carl Lucas – also known as Frankenstein – is a legendary driver in the brutal prison sport known as Death Race.
Death Race (2008)
At the height of the economic crisis and unemployment in 2012, American prisons were overcrowded with violent prisoners, so the powers that be invented a new deadly game that will simultaneously provide entertainment for the masses, but also reduce the number of prisoners in cramped penitentiaries.
Jensen Ames (Jason Statham) is a racing champion with a dark past, which will be avenged when he is convicted of the murder of his wife, which he did not commit. Now Ames is forced to race and wear the metal mask of a late driver named Frankenstein or rot in Terminal Island’s inhuman prison.
Death Race: Beyond Anarchy (2018)
After a botched attack on Frankenstein’s inmate and legendary driver, a secret escort infiltrates the maximum security prison to take down Frankenstein. He embarks on a race where there are no rules, no track and no fear.
