Julius Caesar (Timothy Dalton) became her lover and had a son with her, but such an alliance was opposed by his followers and his wife.

When Caesar was killed, the governance of the Roman Empire was divided between Mark Antony and Octavian. Mark Antony (Billy Zane), Caesar’s loyal general, got Egypt, and an irresistible Egyptian princess managed to charm him and he soon found himself in her arms.

While Octavian did not hesitate, he wanted even more power, attacked Antony and defeated him. Not wanting to accept the new rulers and agree to humiliation, Cleopatra sent her son to India and then committed suicide.
