Govind Arun Ahuja (born 21 December 1963) is an Indian actor, comedian, dancer, and former politician who is known for his work in Hindi-language films.
Govinda is known for his slapstick performances and dancing skills. He has received 12 Filmfare Award nominations and won two Filmfare Special Awards and a Filmfare Award for Best Comedian. His first film was 1986’s Ilzaam, and he has appeared in over 165 Hindi films since. In June 1999, he was voted the tenth-greatest star of stage or screen in the last thousand years by a BBC News Online poll.
25. Salaam-E-Ishq (2007)
Salaam-e-Ishq is a 2007 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Nikkhil Advani, it featured an ensemble cast of Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Akshaye Khanna, Ayesha Takia, John Abraham, Vidya Balan, Govinda, Shannon Esra, Sohail Khan and Isha Koppikar in lead roles.

And Rajeev calls Gagan’s wife and she says that her husband will be present at her house and Rajeev goes to the house and misunderstands the girl as Gagan’s wife and a comical incident takes place at the house.

Coming from small-town Hoshiarpur to big city Bombay, conman and compulsive liar, Raj Malhotra, a lawyer by profession, sets up shop with fellow lawyer, Mohan. He falls in love with Sonam, the daughter of a wealthy lawyer Tejpal. He devises a scheme to marry into this wealthy family, and he succeeds. Years later, he has a son and Sonam finds out that his husband is now having a dishonest attitude to earn money. So, she threatens him with a divorce because she married him for his honesty.
Now, his son decides to save his parents happily married life and wishes that his dad would stop lying. The son’s wish comes true, and all utterances from Raj’s mouth are truthful. This creates a crisis in his personal life, as he confesses about his professional life, when he starts telling the truth in court, especially with his underworld clients, who are now out to kill him.
22. Ek Aur Ek Gyarah: By Hook or by Crook (2003)
Sitara (Sanjay Dutt) and Tara (Govinda) are brothers who are notorious, lovable, small-town con-men who are always in trouble with the law. One day when the police are chasing them, they mistakenly shoot one of the most deadly criminals who goes by the name Cobra (Ashish Vidyarthi). They look for cover and find themselves at Major Ram Singh’s house (Jackie Shroff) who got Cobra’s brother Panther (Gulshan Grover) arrested because he and Cobra tried to steal a very advanced gun. Tara and Sitara go to Singh’s house but, since he is an army officer, he at first doesn’t allow them, but later does.
Living in his house for a while, Tara and Singh’s sister (Nandini Singh) fall in love; Sitara and Singh’s sister’s friend (Amrita Arora) fall in love, too. One day, while in the house, they watch TV and learn that Cobra has come back. They realize that Cobra has kidnapped their mother (Himani Shivpuri) so he can force Tara and Sitara to get Panther out of Ram Singh’s jail. They succeed in getting Panther out of jail. Cobra returns to their mother.
Ram Singh realizes that he has been fooled by the two; they watch him on TV being embarrassed by the media. Sitara and Tara realize they should get revenge on Cobra and Panther. They go to Singh’s house and tell him how they were forced by Cobra to deceive him. Singh forgives them. The brothers leave to catch the two criminals. They succeed and all ends well.
21. Delhi Safari (2012)
Delhi Safari is a 2012 Indian computer-animated musical comedy film written and directed by Nikkhil Advani. The film traces the journey of five animals from Mumbai to Delhi as they struggle against an oppressive regime. It has been produced by Krayon Pictures (a Pune-based 3D animation studio). Based on a story and concept by Advani, the film’s Hindi-language version features the voices of Akshaye Khanna, Govinda, Suniel Shetty, Boman Irani and Urmila Matondkar.
The screenplay of the film is written by Girish Dhamija and Suresh Nair. The music of the film is composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, while the lyrics are penned by Sameer. It is India’s first stereoscopic 3D animation feature film. The film was released in India on 19 October 2012. Delhi Safari has been granted exemption from entertainment tax in the states of Maharashtra and Delhi. At the 60th National Film Awards, it won the National Film Award for Best Animated Film.
The English-language version of the film has voices by Tom Kenny, Carlos Alazraqui, Jason Alexander, Cary Elwes, Tara Strong, Christopher Lloyd, Jane Lynch, Vanessa Williams and Brad Garrett. Raavan is a 2010 Indian Hindi-language action-adventure romantic film co-written, co-produced, and directed by Mani Ratnam. Raavan was announced in February 2008, whilst Abhishek and Aishwarya collaborated for the second time after Guru (2007), creating more anticipation. Shooting began soon after, and took place in various locations with a record number of extras in areas including Chalakudy, Kerala and Ooty, Tamil Nadu amongst other regions throughout India. The film’s music was composed by A. R. Rahman, with lyrics written by Gulzar, the cinematography was handled by V. Manikandan and Santhosh Sivan, and editing is done by A. Sreekar Prasad.
The film was simultaneously released in Tamil as Raavanan with the film’s antagonist Vikram, playing the lead role, and Aishwarya Rai reprising her role in Tamil as well. Both versions were released simultaneously on 18 June 2010 worldwide. The film’s premiere was held in London on 16 June 2010.

Sandwich : Double Trouble is a 2006 Indian Hindi-language comedy film starring Raveena Tandon and Mahima Chaudhry and Govinda plays a dual role in both opposite characters. The film is directed by Anees Bazmee. This film was completed in 2003 but was delayed for three years and finally released in 2006. The movie was remade in Kannada as Double Decker in 2011 starring Jaggesh.
Earlier the title of the movie was “Hum Do Hamara Ek”. Due to the release delay the movie title was changed to “Sandwich”, it received mixed reviews, which appreciated the performance of Govinda, But criticized for writing, screenplay, cliches, and VFX, this film was a box office failure. It marked the last film of Shammi Kapoor before his death on 14 August 2011.
18. Partner (2007)
Partner is a 2007 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film directed by David Dhawan and produced by Sohail Khan. The film stars Govinda, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta.
The story of Partner was inspired by the 2005 American film Hitch. The film revolves around a love guru, who gives wooing advice and ideas to his client for the latter’s ladylove, and also himself falls in love with a widowed mother. Partner was released in worldwide cinemas on 20 July 2017. It received a highly positive response, with particular praise for its comedy scenes and Govinda’s performance. A critical and commercial blockbuster, Partner collected ₹103 crores (US$13 million) worldwide and was one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2007.
Dhawan has expressed interest in creating a sequel to the film, but as of 2022, no script had been finalized and news outlets have reported that the film has been shelved entirely.
17. Jodi No. 1 (2001)
Jai (Sanjay Dutt) and Veeru (Govinda) are good friends and also partners in crime, thus their friendship is named Jodi No. 1. They first gain the confidence of people and later con them. But soon they have to run from Bombay after an encounter with a local Bhai, because they end up having a brawl with his younger brother (Rajat Bedi) and they by accident kill him in a nightclub. While on the run, Jai and Veeru meet Vikramjeet Singh (Aashif Sheikh), an NRI, who is on his way to work as a manager, in Goa, for Rai Bahadur (Anupam Kher), a wealthy businessman who owns a beer factory.
Jai pretends to be Vikramjeet Singh and both he and Veeru move into Rai Bahadur’s house intending to befriend then rob him. However, they fall in love with Rai Bahadur’s daughters (Monica Bedi and Twinkle Khanna) and in a series of hilarious scenes, save the family from Sir John (Ashish Vidyarthi). In the end, while Jai is stealing money from Rai to release Veeru from Sir John, the entire Rai clan is watching the news and finds out that Jai and Veeru are not who they claim to be, but con men. In the end, Rai then lets Jai go with the money to save Veeru and all goes well and they marry the daughters of Rai.
16. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998)
Police inspectors Arjun Singh and Pyare Mohan Bhargava share a friendly bond. Arjun is unmarried and some petty comments are made about his age. His sister Seema is dating Pyare. Zorawar Siddiqui, a business smuggler of diamonds and arms, works under the cover of being a statue maker. In a hotel, he discovers he is being spied upon; he gets rid of Madhu, an eyewitness. Her friend, Neha sees her murder. She calls the police, and Arjun comes there. He takes her to Pyare’s house.
Two petty thieves Bade Miyan and Chote Miyan who are look-alikes of Arjun and Pyare, arrive in town. Confusion ensues when every crime the crooks commit is blamed on Arjun and Pyare. Things go further downhill when Shyamlal, the police commissioner is also thrashed by the doubles. Even Seema and Neha mistake Bade and Chote for Arjun and Pyare. Arjun and Pyare land in trouble when Zorawar kidnaps Seema. They are arrested but get saved by the arrival of Bade and Chote.
Bade and Chote confuse their acts of theft and conning and promise to get Seema back. They arrive at Zorawar’s hideout and stall them while Arjun and Pyare come with the police force and everyone at the hideout is arrested. The crooks leave after apologizing to Seema for the confusion. However some of Zorawar’s men hijack the police van which is taking him and his associates to jail. They are stopped by Bade and Chote, asking for a lift. Chote realizes the truth and gets Zorawar and his men arrested.
Arjun and Pyare are criticized for their mistake regarding the hijacking of the van and the two crooks are given a job in the police force by Shyamlal. Arjun and Pyare end up being demoted to the post of traffic police officers; Bade and Chote take their place as police inspectors.
15. Saajan Chale Sasural (1996)
Shyamsunder (Govinda) is a naive villager who has a great interest in music. He travels to the city, making friends with Muthuswami (Satish Kaushik), a South Indian tabla player. The president of the TIPS cassette company, Khurana (Kader Khan), is impressed with his musical abilities and promotes him to a high position. As he goes back to repay his debts in the village, he receives the tragic news of the death of his wife Pooja (Karisma Kapoor), who has died in a flood.
He then marries Khurana’s daughter Divya (Tabu). When Khurana has a heart attack, Shyamsunder finds his “presumed dead” wife Pooja in the hospital. He then has to fool his two wives, even if it includes leading a double life to make sure Pooja and Divya don’t discover he has married both of them.
14. Khudgarz (1987)
Khudgarz is a 1987 Indian Hindi-language action drama film, produced and directed by Rakesh Roshan under the Film Kraft banner. It stars Jeetendra, Shatrughan Sinha, Govinda, Bhanupriya, Amrita Singh and Neelam Kothari with music composed by Rajesh Roshan. The film marks the directorial debut of actor Rakesh Roshan. The movie was a silver jubilee hit on release.
The movie was remade in Telugu in 1988 as Prana Snehithulu, in Tamil in 1992 as Annamalai (which went on to be remade in Telugu in 1993 as Kondapalli Raja and in Kannada in 2003 as Gokarna) and in Odia in 2003 as Ae Jugara Krushna Sudama. The movie was based on Jeffrey Archer’s 1979 novel Kane and Abel.
13. Hero No. 1 (1997)
Rajesh, the son of rich businessman Dhanraj Malhotra, escapes from his home and reaches Europe. Meena, the granddaughter of Dinanath Tripathi, also travels to Europe as she has secured a scholarship to study there. The two meet and fall in love. Dhanraj reaches Europe in search of Rajesh and discovers he loves Meena. They return to India for the two to get married. However, destiny has something else in store for them.
When Dinanath finds out about Rajesh being Dhanraj’s son, he breaks the alliance in rage. As later Dinanath’s servant Babu escapes, they’re now in search of a new servant. Rajesh disguises himself as servant Raju and begins to work at the Tripathis. He solves the problems of family members also including Dinanath’s 3 sons, daughter Shanno and other granddaughter Dimple, winning the hearts of everyone.
Dinanath finds some valuables missing from the home. Police arrive and find Dhanraj, disguised as a Chowkidar. Raju and Dhanraj are insulted by the family members. Meena reveals Raju’s identity and the sacrifices he made for her. Dinanath realizes their true love for each other. The film ends happily with Rajesh and Meena’s marriage.
12. Raja Babu (1994)
Raja Singh a.k.a. Raja Babu is the sole heir to a rich village couple. He is good-hearted but is also spoilt, unsophisticated, and uneducated. Lakhan pretends to be an ally of Raja’s rich father but is secretly embezzling funds. He also creates problems for Raja and his family.
Raja regularly visits the village photo studio and gets his picture taken, each time wearing a different outfit. He is always accompanied by his sidekick Nandu. He falls for Madhubala “Madhu” when he sees her photograph in the studio.
He harasses Madhu so that he can get her attention. Madhu becomes annoyed with Raja’s antics and comes to his village with her entourage. In the ensuing confusion they mistake one of Raja’s neighbors as Raja, Madhu’s entourage kidnaps him and takes him back to their village. Later, Madhu sees one of Raja’s photos as a Lawyer and mistakes his costume as the real thing. She agrees to marry him but accidentally finds out that Raja is not only not a lawyer, he is also completely illiterate. Enraged at this perceived duplicity, she rushes to Raja’s house, tears up their wedding invitations, and insults Raja’s father.
Raja still wants to marry Madhu, but his father refuses to grant him permission and tries to compel him to quickly marry a mentally challenged girl to save his family’s honor. Raja refuses as he loves Madhu and ends up insulting the girl’s parents. Angered at this insult, the girl’s mother reveals a big secret regarding Raja’s origins. He is actually not his parents’ biological child, rather he was an orphan found on the steps of a mandir (Hindu temple), and subsequently adopted by his parents.
Raja becomes overwhelmed with gratitude and decides to do as his father says. In the meantime, Madhu understands that Raja did not deceive her and it was all a misunderstanding. She forgives him and declares her love for him. But Raja tells her about his changed situation and asks her to forget him. Madhu refuses to listen to him and pursues him anyway.
Raja’s father misunderstands his son’s intentions and kicks him out for breaking his promise of no longer seeing Madhu. Taking advantage of this tense situation, Lakhan plans to kill Raja’s entire family and take control of their property. He along with his son Banke kidnaps Raja’s parents. Raja rushes to rescue them. After a long fight, he manages to defeat his family’s enemies. His father finally understands his son’s deep love and respect for him and agrees to let him unite with Madhu.
11. Jagga Jasoos (2017)
The story of Jagga Jasoos revolves around the high-profile case of Purulia Arms Drop, which took place in 1995 allegedly to overthrow the then Communist Government of West Bengal, India. Jagga, a curious and shy young boy in a quaint little town lives a happy life with his accident-prone adoptive father, Badal Bagchi. Jagga, being self-conscious of his stammer, doesn’t speak much; until one day Bagchi teaches him to “speak” in song.
Sometime later, after admitting Jagga into a boarding school, Bagchi suddenly disappears. Feeling abandoned, Jagga’s only contact with Bagchi is a VHS tape that he receives in the mail every year on his birthday. Armed with sharp detective skills, Jagga sets out to solve the mystery of his missing parent. Along the way, he finds a partner in Shruti Sengupta, an accident-prone journalist with her own international criminal case to solve.
Using a few tricks he learned from Bagchi, Jagga, with Shruti, embarks on a mission to uncover details of his father’s mysterious secret life and finds himself embroiled in a worldwide smuggling racket. The film later ends on a cliffhanger as it shows Jagga and his father on a cruise ship having been captured by the Two-Headed Bashir Alexander.
10. Haseena Maan Jaayegi (1999)
Amirchand is the ill-fated father of two mischievous sons—Sonu and Monu. Both of them are always up to one prank or another, most of them aimed at stealing money from Amirchand.
In the opening scene, they call up their father, acting like gangsters, and ask for a huge sum if he wants to live. The plan fails as Amirchand turns out to be the driver of the taxi in which they were escaping. Later, they fix up the marriage of their father with Shakuntala and take one lakh rupees as advance dowry from her brother Jamnadas. This plan also fails as Amirchand refuses to entertain Jamnadas and his sister.
Amirchand warns their sons to become serious about life if they want to live in his home. He asks Monu to join the office and Sonu to go to Goa for claiming some money he had lent to someone. Whereas Monu plays another prank by calling up a girls’ hostel and flirting with Ritu, Sonu mistakenly goes to one Gulzarilal Verma for claiming the money, where he meets Pooja. Both Ritu and Pooja are Gulzarilal’s daughters.
Sonu and Monu fall in love with Pooja and Ritu, respectively. Sonu calls up Monu to come to Goa, disguised as his Uncle for fixing up his and Pooja’s marriage. This leads to a series of confusion as Gulzarilal’s sister Santho also falls in love with Monu (disguised as Uncle).
To get rid of the problem, Sonu and Monu throw a dummy of the Uncle from the top of a cliff, only to land up getting arrested for killing the non-existent uncle. Amirchand learns of this and reaches Goa with his assistant Kunj Bihari. In favor of the story and Sonu and Monu’s fate, Amirchand and Gulzarilal turn out to be long-lost friends. Together they set out towards the nearest police station when they get kidnapped by a Bhai. Sonu and Monu escape from the lockup with Bhootnath’s help and rescue their father and father-in-law-to-be, thus proving to be worthy sons.
9. Shola Aur Shabnam (1992)
The spoiled and arrogant brother, Bali (Mohnish Behl), of notorious gangster, Kali Baba (Gulshan Grover), enlists in the National Cadet Corp, and wants to have his way with his fellow students and trainer, Inder Mohan Lathi (Anupam Kher), with comical results. When he meets Divya Thapa (Divya Bharti) for the first time, he is smitten by her, and wants to be with her by hook or by crook. But Divya is in love with Karan (Govinda), and both plan to be with each other.
Circumstances act against them, and they flee together, with Kali Baba’s men, and Divya’s Police Commissioner dad, Yashpal Thapa (Alok Nath), in hot pursuit, to an unknown destination, surrounded by a web of lies, deception, and no known resource to assist them.
8. Bhagam Bhag (2006)
Bhagam Bhag is a 2006 Indian Hindi-language comedy thriller film directed by Priyadarshan. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Govinda and Paresh Rawal as leads alongside Lara Dutta, Rajpal Yadav, Jackie Shroff, Arbaaz Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Manoj Joshi, Razak Khan, Sharat Saxena and Asrani. The film was released theatrically on 22 December 2006, during Christmas.
This movie is a remake of the 1995 Malayalam movie Mannar Mathai Speaking. Upon release, it was a commercial success.

6. Deewana Mastana (1997)
Raja (Anil Kapoor) is a small-time crook who sells railway tickets on the black market at Amirpur Station. Tired of his job he looks for new ways to make a quick buck. One day, along with his friend Ghafoor (Johnny Lever) and a police inspector (Avtar Gill), he robs Rs 2.5 million from the railway treasury. Later, Raja and Gafoor bump off the inspector and run away with the loot to Mumbai.
At the Mumbai airport, Raja spots (Juhi Chawla) and falls in love at first sight with her. Incidentally, they land up at the same hotel where Raja and Gafoor find out that she is a psychiatrist called Dr. Neha. Raja assumes the name Raj Kumar and tries to befriend her by lying that he has just returned from America and that his driver Gafoor is suffering from a mental disorder where he regards any beautiful girl as his bhabhi. However, Gafoor cautions Raja not to hurry and be patient in matters of love.
The trouble begins when Bunnu (Govinda), the son of a wealthy businessman (Anupam Kher), is sent to Neha for treatment. He has multiple phobias and is terrified of fire, heights, running, and water and is coached by Neha to deal with his issues using “Baby steps” (modeled on Bill Murray’s character in the Hollywood movie What About Bob?). Soon, he too falls for Neha and discovers he has a rival in Raja. Neha has to leave for Ooty with her father (Saeed Jaffrey) to attend her uncle’s (Shakti Kapoor) wedding. She does not leave behind a forwarding address. Both Raja and Bunnu impersonate policemen and intimidate her secretary into revealing where she is. Neha is thrilled to see them in Ooty, but is drawn closer to the ill Bunnu rather than Raja.
Things take an ugly turn when Gafoor tries to kill Bunnu, who escapes. Bunnu contacts a contract killer Pappu Pager (Satish Kaushik) to bump off Raja. However, that plan fails. Armed with a gold ring and garland, Neha calls Bunnu and Raja to court, ostensibly with the purpose of marriage. Both are surprised to see the other there. Eventually, they find out that Neha is actually marrying Prem (Salman Khan, in a guest appearance) and Raja and Bunnu end up being witnesses to her marriage. Raveena Tandon makes a special appearance in the end as both Raj and Bunnu walk off together.
5. Swarg (1990)
Swarg is a 1990 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by David Dhawan, and released in 1990. It stars Rajesh Khanna, Govinda, Juhi Chawla, and Madhavi in lead roles. Swarg is the fourth last certified hit of Rajesh Khanna, as this was followed by Begunaah, Ghar Parivaar and Rupaye Dus Karod in the year 1991.
The movie is loosely based on the 1967 movie Mehrban starring Ashok Kumar, which itself was a remake of the 1960 Tamil movie Padikkadha Medhai which in turn was a remake of the 1953 Bengali film Jog Biyog based on the novel of the same name by Ashapoorna Devi. Swarg was remade in Telugu as Indra Bhavanam with Krishna and Krishnam Raju, in Odia as Bhai Hela Bhagari Starring Siddhanta Mahapatra And Rachana Banerjee, in Bengali as Annadata and Nepali as Izzatadar, in Bangladesh as Sneher Protidhan.
The Bengali version was highly appreciated by the audience and was successful at the box office. Prosenjit Chatterjee played Shankar, the Govinda role whereas Bangladesh actor Razzak played Mr. Amar Chowdhury, the Rajesh Khanna role and Sreelekha Mitra played Barsha, the Juhi Chawla role in its Bengali version.
4. Aankhen (1993)
Hasmukh Rai (Kader Khan) has a problem. As a matter of fact, two problems — his two sons: Munnu (Chunky Pandey) and Gulshan “Bunnu” (Govinda Ahuja). The brothers are notorious slackers up to no good, and involved in elaborate practical jokes. It comes to Hasmukh’s attention that his sons have been lying to him about their college grades — in studies and sports — and have not been attending school for the last three years.
As a result, they are kicked out of college and, ultimately, their home. Later, one of their practical jokes gets out of hand, and Bunnu disappears, presumed dead. Munnu gets involved in the conspiracy of killing Bunnu. Meanwhile, from a small Indian village, Bunnu’s identical cousin, Gauri Shankar, arrives in town. He is mistaken for Bunnu which leads to hilarious misunderstandings and constant uproar.
3. Dulhe Raja (1998)
Poor Raja opens a fast food restaurant right opposite a five-star hotel run by its owner Singhania, earning his wrath. The wealthy hotel owner uses all his influence to remove Raja, but in vain. Things get worse for the wealthy man, when his daughter Kiran wants to marry the poor hotelier.
The wealthy man refuses, leading to a confrontation and a condition – which Raja fulfills, he becomes rich virtually overnight, and proposes Kiran’s hand. The wealthy hotelier reluctantly accepts him as his son-in-law, only to have Kiran elope with a man named Rahul.
2. Hum (1991)
Bhaktawar (Danny Denzongpa) rules over the docks in Mumbai, treating his workers like slaves. Despite his general dissatisfaction with this regime, Tiger (Amitabh Bachchan) extorts money from the dock workers for his father Pratap (Deepak Shirke), who in turn works as an enforcer for Bhaktawar.
Tiger is in love with his best friend Gonsalves (Romesh Sharma)’s sister Jumma (Kimi Katkar). Gonsalves is against Bhaktawar’s policies and is killed by Bhaktawar and in the subsequent fall-out, Tiger’s father and stepmother also die, leaving two young half-brothers, Kumar and Vijay, with Tiger.
Tiger immediately sets out to kill Bhaktawar but is stopped by Inspector Girdhar (Anupam Kher). Girdhar reminds Tiger to fulfill his dying stepmother’s wish and take care of his brothers while leaving the police to deal with Bhaktawar. Girdhar and his faithful sidekick Havaldar Arjun Singh (Annu Kapoor) steal money from Bhaktawar’s safe and set fire to Bhaktawar’s house to destroy any evidence, murdering Bhaktawar’s wife and his daughter. Police later arrest Bhaktawar for killing Tiger’s family and sends him to jail. Tiger escapes on a train and Jumma refuses to leave with Tiger, as his brothers should be his priority. Jumma and Tiger promise to reunite in the future. Girdhar bombs the train carrying Tiger and his brothers to eliminate any possible witnesses of his crime, but they escape.
Years later, Tiger has renamed himself Shekhar and is a respectable farmer and timber merchant in Ooty. Kumar (Rajnikanth) is a police officer married to Aarti (Deepa Sahi), and they have a young daughter Jyoti (Sanjana). The youngest brother, Vijay (Govinda), is a college student. Vijay is in love with Anita (Shilpa Shirodkar), daughter of General Rana Pratap Singh (Kader Khan), who wants his daughter to marry a military officer. Shekhar and his brothers lead a happy family life. Neither of the two youngest brothers seems to have any memory of their time in Mumbai and both regard Shekhar as their elder brother. Jumma is now a successful actress, while Girdhar and Havaldar are leading a luxurious life of the money they stole from Bhaktawar.
Bhaktawar is released from jail and is manipulated by Giridhar into believing that Tiger killed Bhaktawar’s family. To seek revenge, Bhaktawar tracks down Tiger in Ooty. He kidnaps Aarti and Jyothi in Bangalore and tells them the truth about Shekhar. Meanwhile, Kumar also learns Shekhar’s true identity and blames him for his wife and child’s kidnapping. However, all misunderstandings are cleared by Jumma when she explains to Vijay and Kumar about their past and the sacrifices made by Shekhar for them to lead a respectable life.
Later Tiger, along with Kumar and Vijay, rescue Aarti and Jyoti and explain to Bhaktawar that it was Giridhar who had murdered his family. Bhaktawar then ties himself along with Giridhar to a bomb and they both die due to the explosion. The film ends with the family happily united.

Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film written and directed by A. R. Murugadoss, starring Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and Freddy Daruwala in the lead roles, while Govinda and Sumeet Raghavan in supporting roles. It is an official remake of Murugadoss’ own 2012 Tamil film Thuppakki and follows an Indian Army officer who arrives in Mumbai on vacation and sets out to hunt down the terrorist leader of a sleeper cell network and deactivate the sleeper cells operating under his command.
The film was a hit at the box office in India as well as worldwide. The film was released worldwide on 6 June 2014. Made on a budget of ₹500 million, the film became a commercial success at the box office. With worldwide earnings of over ₹1.70 billion, Holiday proved to be one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2014. Kumar’s acting was appreciated, earning him a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actor.
